What's another year

It was my birthday yesterday , Tuesday the 17 November brought me kicking and screaming into mid 20's. Actually it was a fairly calm affair all in all the most exciting thing that happened was the installation of the new washing machine in the house .

Some moments remind me how far I am from my college days and my growing concern about the diminishing supply of clean sock was one of them (-; People say that college days are the best of your life and probably in term of freedom / responsibility they probably are but i have to say post college days have suited me so much better. I've no doubt that I've knocked more craic out of the last 3 years then i did in my college days.

23 was a sucky age anyway there's noting important at least when I'm 25 i can have a quarter life crisis (yes I plan to live to 100) . Statistics show that most new years resolutions have been brushed under the mat by the end of January so my thinking is that January most be a crappy month for self improvement. given this I figure that a birthday is about as good a time to make a new resolution as new years.

So top 3 things i want to do better this year:
- Take more chances
- Run more (and stop being a lazy MoFo)
- ...actually I'm doing pretty good with everything else , good job *pats self on back*

...oh try to pay more attention to spelling and grammar.

The Last Few Weeks

It's been a while since I updated my blog (partly due to my recent love affair with Twitter) 

The last few weeks have been fairly eventful really. Starting with a fantastic Paddies Day. Galway was crazy during paddies day I was down in the Spanish Arch with about 2000 drunk, happy people in the glorious sunshine. After that there was a certain Rugby match blah blah ..

But why dwell on the past ? This Tuesday I have an interview in Oranmore which I'm fairly excited about. it's with a company called B2BGateway which specialize in EDI . The jobs looks good and involves C++, ASP (classic), and WinBatch as well as some support functions. I really like the idea of a job with a technical and personal skills.

Also not to go on about it but I'm also going to Tenerife with the Cavan posse April 18 - 25 sweet !!

A more coordinated post soon promise.

These are a few of my faorite things

I'm working on a personal software project at the minute as in took a b reak to write this post. It's saturday night and i decided to take a few hours on my own to finally start this project I'e wanted to get started on for ages . As I sat down to begin coding a music download finshed proiding my a night of new music to listen to while I code and let my thoughts drift.

I do love nights like this . From time to time I think it's good for the head to get away from everyone in the world not to mention flexing my under used development muscle and remind myself that I really enjoy what I do for a living .

I've spent my night between coding, googling for help with stuff, playing guitar, and doing internet stuff like twittering and blogging. That brings me to another point.

I've disccvoered that I'm an internet snob ! Honestly I know it wrong and i'm delighted so many poeple have been turned onto the internet (and tech in general) by things like social networking, Ipods, and cd burning but I was here first !

I started using the computers back in 1994 using an old Dos computer. I started using the internet a couple of years later in maybe 1996 - 97. Thats not even that long ago I hae friends (Pete) who remember using 28kb modems I wonder how many friends on my facebook hae even used a Dial-up network.

I think what annoys me is that so much of the sense of exploration has been taken out of the internet and computers in general. Back in the day Eerytime I went online I never knew where I was going . I didn't hae a bunch of emails saying "hey check this site out". I went the Yahoo (pre-google days) and searached for stuff and sometimes I struck gold. I remeber downloading my first MP3 on the dodge it took 45 min and downloading 2 at a time would crash your 232mhz beast .

Now-a-days eerything is on a plate, my friends are on bebe - so they neer find blogging, i chat on facebook/MSN so they neer find meebo/digsby, the funnt sites are on digg/faillol etc so they never go looking they google asnwer and find them or gie up so they never find messageboards.

In summary I welcome the newcomers but I say explore it's a big place to those who'e here before it was cool I'm glad there still large parts of the internet that belong to us .

A little later than usual but hell never

Day 2

Well I went for my run this morning dispite being rediculious ly tierd and sore after football. I sat on my bed thos morning lik ea man trying to work up teh courage to jump from a plane in a war zone... but I jump (was that a bit dramatic)

Found it tough to do the run but felt like I accomploshed something regardless of how I get on at the run on Saturday.

Tommorow may be the last day I drag myself up as I'm thinking I may give myself thursday off to recover after badminton tonight my joints fell a bit dodge.

I think if i do my run tommorow and maybe another on in the eening I'll havve gien myself eery chance to do the run saturday.


anyways bed time for me ..too tierd for spell checkiing

It's so freakin cold . Every bit of me hurts got work in two hours not sure i'll be finish by then . Right at this point i'm stalking getting out ...

Day 1..

I've just finished the first day of my 5 day training plan for the 10km run on saturday. I ran 4 km this morning before work and played an hour of 5-a-side this evening. Tommorrow I'm due at salthill at 6 again If you don't see a pic from teh prom tommorow That means I didn't drag myself out of bed and FAILED on day

on the other hand if there is a pic then go me ...

Hey all it's a lovely day in Galway (no, really this time it actually is a lovely day) what were the odds 

in fact I shall run outside and take a picture hold on ....

Just back from my first run in about 3 weeks which isn't good with 
only 6 days till I'm supposed to run a 10 KM . For anyone not up-to-date 

I hurt my ankle and I haven't been up to running in about 3 weeks (well 2 weeks for ankle and 1 for residual Christmas laziness). Anyway I ran about ...eh well take a look... My Route

point of this post ..I'm so wrecked... it's just not funny

But I've done my run and earned myself a nice hot shower and perhaps a beer.
